I was brought in to do the animation so the design and storyboards were already approved. My job was to work from the given storyboards to create the assets, record and edit the audio, and animate it. The creative director gave me a lot of freedom to animate it how I wanted. Afterwards I did the final edits and revisions in Premiere. |

Acting in Animation Demo
Class: Animation Techniques: Digital 2D
Software: Toon Boom Harmony Notes: I use this video with my advanced class as part of a demo on creating limited/ anime-style animation that doesn't feel too stiff. During my demonstration, I'll show this first and then open the project file and walk my students through the steps of creating it. The goal is to show them how to make better posing and timing decisions. I try to highlight how they can use the principles of Overlapping Action, Secondary Action, and Anticipation to create a convincing performance with very few drawings. |
